Explanations

 

1. 4; Total emp = = 4000

∴ Total_A = x 4000 = 800

∴ Female_A = x 800 = 296

∴ Male_A = 504

Similarly, for other companies we get total

Females = 1796

And total males = 2204

∴ Diff = 408

2. 5; Reqd% = x 100 = 231.25%

3. 2; Male (A + B + C) = 504 + 517 + 356 = 1377

Female (D + E + F) = 192 + 122 + 407 = 721

∴ Diff = 1377 – 721 = 656

4. 2; Reqd% = x 100 = 89%

5. 4; Female_B = 423 Male_F = 333

∴ Ratio = =

6. 1; Let the present age of the father be

X and that of the son be y. Then =

∴ 3x = 8y ……..(i)

Further, = ∴ x + 12 = 12y + 24

∴ x- 2y = 12 …..(ii)

From eqn (i) and (ii), x = 48, y = 18

X = y + 72 ∴ 13y = 9y + 648

∴ 13y – 9y = 648 ∴ y = = 162

∴ x = 162 + 72 = 234

∴ Perimeter = 2(234 + 162) = 2 x 396

= 792 ft

10. 2; Let the price of a pen be x and that of pencil be y.

Then 87x + 29y = 783 ……..(i)

Multiplying eqn (i) by = 783 x

∴ 90x + 30y = 810
