Answers & Explanations :

1. (3)

Total number of candidates:

Year 2007 ⇒ (6.5 + 6) thousand

= 12.5 thousand

Year 2005 ⇒ (6 + 5.5) thousand

= 11.5 thousand

2. (5)

Total number of candidates enrolled in

institution B =

(3.5 + 4 + 4 + 5.5 + 5 + 6) thousands

= 28000

3. (5)

Total number of candidates in institution A

= ( 2 + 3.5 + 5 + 6 + 4 + 6.5 ) thousands

= 27000

Required percentage

(27000 / 28000)  x 100 = 96

4. (4)

Required difference

= [(5 + 6.5) – (4 + 6)] thousand = 1500

5. (2)

According to the graph, Required ratio

=4:9

6. (3)

Number of units of goods manufactured

= (35 + 27.5 + 30 + 32.5) Lakh = 125 Lakh

Required average = 125/4

= 31.25 Lakh

= 3125000

7. (2)

Required Percentage = (22.5/32.5)x 100=69

8. (1)

Required difference

= [(35 + 27.5) – (22.5 + 20)] lakh = 20 lakh

9. (4)

Total number of units sold

= [(22.5 + 20 + 25 + 22.5)] lakh = 90 lakh

10. (3) Required ratio

= (22.5 + 20) : (25 + 22.5)

= 42.5 : 47.5 = 17 : 19
